My 2026 New Year’s Resolution

Posted on January 1, 2026 by Chip Canonigo Leave a Comment on My 2026 New Year’s Resolution

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. That means I earn commissions from my sponsored links or I make money when readers (you) purchase items through my links. Your purchase allows me to continue working as a stay-at-home dad who moonlights as a farmer and a musician. Needless to say, this post contains affiliate links.

As we step into 2026, I want to start with one simple but very important thing: thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has visited, read, shared, commented on, or quietly supported any of my blogs over the years. Whether you stumbled onto one article through Google, followed a link from social media, or have been reading consistently, I truly appreciate the time and attention you’ve given my work.

I’ve been told many times—by mentors, SEO experts, and well-meaning friends—that the smartest thing to do is to pick one niche and focus on it. And while that advice absolutely works for many people, I’ve come to accept something about myself: I just don’t work that way.

I have too many interests.

Too many things I genuinely care about.

And I’m not here primarily to earn money.

Over the past year, I’ve been most active on three sites:

  • Biyernes.com
  • Musikawabad.com
  • And of course, this site.

Each of these sites represents a different side of me—tech, music, opinions, reviews, observations, and random thoughts that don’t always fit neatly into one box.

I intend to continue writing actively for all three in 2026, but this year comes with a new challenge: more cross-posting and better distribution.

That means taking content beyond just blogs and into:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • Facebook
  • YouTube.

It’s going to be a very busy year, but I’m excited about the challenge. Writing has never been the hard part for me—it’s showing up consistently across platforms that will test my discipline.

Still, I’m ready to try.

Reviving Long-Neglected Projects

In addition to those three main sites, I want to be more productive on two projects that are very close to my heart.

First is HayopEtc.com, a site focused on animals.

This project exists because of a lifelong love for animals, zoos, pets, and wildlife.

It deserves more attention than I’ve been able to give it in the past, and 2026 is the year I change that. More articles, more zoo visits, more stories, and more learning—simple as that.

Second is FilipinoWriters.com, a pet project I share with my best friend, Domz.

This site started with a big dream: to help Filipino writers get noticed, showcase their creativity, and hopefully connect them with clients who value good writing.

Life and work took priority, as they often do, but this year I want us to slowly bring it back to life—one article at a time, one writer at a time.

Another important goal for 2026 is finally adding content to Jectra.com, a site focused on health and wellness.

This isn’t about pretending to be a fitness influencer or health guru. It’s about documenting learning, struggles, small wins, and honest attempts at living better—physically and mentally.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that health affects everything else: work, creativity, relationships, and longevity.

And that matters now more than ever.

Music, Bands, and Leaving a Mark on the Scene

Music has always been part of my life, and in 2026 I want to increase my band’s activity by posting more content for Acid Radius. That includes both covers and original songs shared through YouTube and TikTok.

This isn’t about chasing fame. It’s about documenting the process, enjoying creation, and leaving something behind that shows what we loved doing at this point in our lives.

Doing All of This for One Very Important Reason

More than anything, I hope to be even more involved in my son’s life this year and give him the best memories I possibly can while he’s still young.

One of the reasons I’m starting multiple YouTube channels is so I can leave behind videos, thoughts, music, and stories that my son can revisit someday.

This is something I deeply wish my mom had the chance to do.

If she had been around when YouTube really took off, I know she would have been vlogging too—and having those videos today would mean everything.

So in many ways, this year’s work is about showing up.

Gratitude Above All

I also want to say how thankful I am for the company I work for. I pray that in 2026, I can be my best—for them and for myself—because I truly appreciate the opportunities, trust, and tools they’ve given me to do my job well.

I pray for good health for my family: my father, my sister, my two younger brothers, my sisters-in-law, and my two nieces.

I’m also incredibly thankful to be part of the Davao Bloggers Society, and I’m looking forward to a productive and creative 2026.

Hopefully, I can be even half as consistent and productive as OC-Craft—that alone would be a big win.

Here’s to 2026

I know I’m taking on a lot this year.

But if I can pull it off—even if I don’t get it perfect, it will be worth it.

So here’s to 2026.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my work in any form.
Good luck to all of us this coming year.

And Happy New Year.
