Bye Bye February, Here’s to a Great March 2026

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. That means I earn commissions from my sponsored links or I make money when readers (you) purchase items through my links. Your purchase allows me to continue working as a stay-at-home dad who moonlights as a farmer and a musician. Needless to say, this post contains affiliate links.

February 2026 is done.

And man it was one hell of a trip!

I believe this will be one of those months that I’ll remember for a long time.

It was full, it was challenging, it was meaningful.

Imperfect.

Real

And most importantly, because it was the “love month”, I was given a chance to rethink my life and the decisions I’ve made based on pride and ego, and refocused it to loving my wife more.

But I’m not stopping at just a month’s worth of effrt. Oh no no no… I’m going to keep wooing her.

Every single day if I have to.

She deserves that, and so does this relationship.

But beyond the personal stuff, February was also a productive month for me as a blogger and content creator.

So here are the wins, the grind, the lessons, and the future plans.

5 sites? No Problem!

I currently run five active websites, and all of them have been doing well enough over the last few months.

biyernes.comLifestyle / Consumer TechTecno Spark Slim, Samsung A73 dying, Metrobank InstaPay update

Each of these sites touches a different part of my world.

Filipino Writers is close to my heart — it started as a small Facebook group for freelance writers helping each other, and has since grown to over 50,000 members.

Musika Wabad is where I get to geek out on all things music — from guitar pedals to live events like the Red Bull Dance Your Style competition at Iron Horse Super Club right here in Davao.

Hayop Etc is where I channel my love for animals.

Biyernes covers the everyday stuff — gadgets, deals, consumer news.

And Jectra is where I get a little more personal, medical and philosophical.

All five are ticking. And that means the world to me.

Writing Constantly and Consistently Matters More Than You Think

One thing I’ve learned — sometimes the hard way — is that blogging is not a sprint. It’s a marathon. And the only way to win a marathon is to keep moving forward, even when you don’t feel like it.

Consistent writing does a few things for you as a blogger:

  • It builds trust with your audience. People come back to sites that are regularly updated. If your last post was three months ago, there’s a good chance visitors will assume the site is dead — and they’re not wrong to think that.
  • It trains your brain. The more you write, the easier it gets. Ideas come faster. Sentences flow smoother. Your voice becomes clearer. Writing every day, even imperfectly, is better than waiting for the perfect idea that never comes.
  • It feeds the algorithm. Search engines love fresh content. The more regularly you publish, the more signals you send that your site is active, relevant, and worth ranking.
  • It keeps YOU accountable. Having a publishing schedule forces you to stay on top of trends, do your research, and remain curious about the world around you.

I’ve read books about it, gone through care guides and how-to blogs, and watched countless videos about blogging — from the basics of setting up a WordPress site to the more advanced stuff like SEO, monetization, and audience building.

The one thing every single resource agrees on?

Show up consistently.

That’s the foundation everything else is built on.

Checking Your Progress Regularly: Don’t Skip This Step

It’s great to write and publish, but it’s equally important to always keep checking your progress on a regular basis.

I make it a habit to look at my analytics — traffic numbers, top-performing posts, bounce rates, and where my readers are coming from. This isn’t about obsessing over numbers. It’s about understanding what’s working and what isn’t.

Think of it like this: you wouldn’t go on a road trip without occasionally checking if you’re still on the right road, right?

Same principle applies here.

Regular check-ins help me decide which sites need more attention, which topics my readers are responding to, and where I should focus my energy in the coming weeks.

February, for instance, showed me that content tied to real-life events — the Red Bull Dance Your Style competition, Valentine’s Day, the Pharmacist’s Licensure Exam results — tends to get more traction than purely informational pieces.

That’s useful to know.

That shapes how I plan my content calendar going into March.

I’ve Also Started Exploring Video

This is something I’m genuinely excited about.

I’ve started adding a few videos into the mix, and I really hope to explore that other aspect of sharing my world to the rest of humanity.

There’s something about video that text just can’t fully replicate.

You can see the guitar pedal being tested. You can hear the crowd at a live gig. You can actually feel what it’s like to be at the Red Bull Dance Your Style event in Davao.

I’m still learning the ropes — lighting, editing, keeping things engaging without over-producing — but I’m committed to growing in this space.

Video is another language, and I want to learn how to speak it fluently.

Pros and Cons of Managing 5 Websites + 2 More (Technically)

Look, I’m not going to pretend this is easy. Managing and constantly updating five websites every week is a lot of work. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Multiple income streams and monetization opportunities
  • Each site allows me to explore different passions (music, animals, writing, lifestyle, tech)
  • Diversified traffic means no single site failure tanks everything
  • You grow as a writer, researcher, and content strategist much faster
  • It keeps life interesting — there’s always something to write about

Cons:

  • It’s time-consuming. Finding enough hours in the day is a constant challenge
  • Quality control becomes harder when you’re spreading yourself thin
  • SEO maintenance across multiple domains requires serious organization
  • Burnout is real if you don’t pace yourself properly
  • Keeping each site’s voice and niche distinct requires constant mindfulness

The key — at least for me — is planning ahead, batching content where possible, and accepting that not every post will be perfect.

Done is better than perfect, as they say.

And as long as I’m showing up, I’m moving forward.

Earn from Your Blog Through AdSense and Affiliate Marketing

If you’re thinking about starting a blog or already have one and haven’t monetized it yet, let me say this clearly: you should. Blogging can absolutely generate real income, and two of the most accessible ways to do it are through Google AdSense and affiliate marketing.

Google AdSense lets you earn money by displaying ads on your site. You earn every time someone views or clicks on those ads. It’s passive income once it’s set up — which means your old posts keep working for you even when you’re asleep.

Affiliate marketing takes it a step further. I personally recommend signing up as an affiliate for Amazon and Shopee.

Both platforms have affiliate programs where you earn a commission every time someone buys a product through your link.

Even Filipino Writers is already a participant in the Amazon Associates Program.

The model is simple: you write an honest review or recommendation, include your affiliate link, and earn a percentage of every sale. You’re not selling anything aggressively — you’re just sharing things you already know and love, and getting rewarded for it.

The beauty of affiliate marketing is that it aligns naturally with authentic content.

A review of a guitar pedal on Musika Wabad.

A pet care guide on Hayop Etc.

A gadget roundup on Biyernes.

These are all opportunities to include affiliate links that add value to readers while generating income for me.

Bye Bye February — Hello March

February gave me a lot.

Progress on my sites.

New content I’m proud of.

A video journey that’s just beginning.

And most importantly — a second chance at something that matters more than any blog post ever could.

I’m heading into March with gratitude, momentum, and a heart that’s fully committed — to my work, to my growth, and to the woman I love.

The wooing continues.

The writing continues.

And the best, I believe, is still ahead.

Here’s to March 2026.

Let’s go!
