I’ve been writing a lot for the past few months. And that’s on top of the 9 hours I spend working for Zywave as an SEO Specialist.

That means a lot of sitting down.

And a lot of fat collecting in my gut area.

So… I need a change of pace.

Like eat a few more bowls of salad or get back to working out.

Which brings me to my recent sign up that’s going to force me to get back on a workout routine or I’m going to be very sorry in 30 days.

You see I signed up for a fun run.

Is it called a fun run?

Anyway, it’s the DCACI Run 2025 at Azuela Cove on October 12 2025.

I don’t usually go looking for these types of events but the DBS (Davao Bloggers Society) asked its members to sign up and s I did.

This will be my second fun run and I’m just doing the bare minimum which is the 3K. I normally jog 5 KM with no problems but I’m not really at my physical best these days.

And I do want to survive this long enough to be able to write it.

I’ve done a few things to prepare myself for the event. Jumping jacks, push ups, and basic limbering up. I don’ want to push myself unnecessarily so I’m starting with those before I focus on the cardio aspect of my training.

So far it’s only been three days.

Got my Atome Card Application Approved

After getting into massive debt as a result of my ambitious over-reaching, I suffered a major blow to my credit score.

I mean my credit score is probably so low that you’d need a submarine to find it.

I haven’t stopped applying for loans in the past few years so I can somehow loosen the financial stranglehold this massive debt has on my neck.

And guess what? I keep getting denied.

Serves me right, right?

Yeah. I guess so.

But that won’t stop me from applying.

And I finally got approved for an Atome Card which is like a hybrid of a credit card and a debit card. And they say you can use it to improve your credit score.

I applied yesterday and got approved with a Php1000 credit limit today.

Heh.

Cool.

I probably won’t use it for anything else other than as a gas card. I still have to figure out how to pay for it before I start using it because I want to make sure I don’t mess it up and add to my debts.

I’ve been carefully paying those off and I don’t want to incur massive debt again.

So, if you need a “credit card” you might want to consider getting an Atome card.

Here’s my link: Join me on Atome

Click it to get approved quickly.

I’ll try to come up with a review on it next week if I find the time.

Finally Some Good News from the Farm

The durian finally ripened and we were able to make a good harvest enough to pay the basic overhead of the farm, get some fertilizers in preparation for the next season and some 20 new 6 foot-tall durian saplings to replenish the ones that died during the last season.

Not bad for a farm that has suffered through drought, mismanagement, and climate change.

Can’t wait for the farm to finally reach its full potential and start yielding major profit.

Patience, patience.

My Thoughts on the DPWH Scandal

On another note, since it’s all over the news, I started listening to the DPWH scandal which really gave ne some good topics to write about. The latest was the Rolls Royce Cullinan.

I didn’t really want to dip into the political side of the ongoing debates so I’m just setting my focus on things I can really understand and write about which are the cars the most prominent contractors are flaunting on social media.

I don’t really have much to say about what they’re talking about so I’m setting my focus on the tech specs that matter. On the cars I’ll probably never get to see, ride, much less own in this lifetime.

Reviving my First Love: Music

On the music side of things, Al’s band, Trashbunk finally signed a distribution deal with Holodeck and they should have their album out by early next year. They’ve got some really good stuff and I got a peek of great things to come thanks to Al’s enthusiastic sharing of his songs.

My bandmates have also reached out to me to find out what my plans are and it started with an apology. I have not been the most motivated in terms of songwriting or doing anything musical in nature over the last few months.

We’re almost ending the year and we haven’t gigged yet.

And that’s all on me.

Hopefully the new Sonicake Pocketmaster gets here soon enough so I can get started on fleshing everything out for the band.

The Jungle

One of the best things I ever did was get a YouTube Premium account.

Boy let me tell you, the lack of ads has made it a more enjoying experience to go watch videos on that platform. In fact, we’ve already cancelled our Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts because we spend more time on YouTube and Disney+ so having the first two just seemed like too much needless luxury that we can’t afford at this time.

Priorities baby.

Priorities.

Anyway, I watched “Jungle” which stars Daniel Radcliffe which is based on Yossi Ghinsberg’s jungle survival experience. It’s a cool film about friendship but what really struck me was what happens if you don’t have solid teamwork.

What kind of set off the events that led to multiple failures was when the group decided to build a raft and float down the river. As they were getting tossed around in the rapids, arguments started which broke down the dynamics of the team.

This is not something I would recommend if you’re in a high stress situation.

What they could have done better was to recognize the best leader for that situation and follow his instructions until they are safe. And then reassess once everyone is back on safe ground.

I won’t spoil it too much.

Here’s a link to that movie on YouTube: The Jungle.

Ok, I think that’s it for now.

Have a great Sunday ahead of you guys and a productive week come Monday.
