Calinan is another district in Davao City that you can easily escape to for some respite from the “traffic” in the downtown area. If you’re taking public transportation, it might take an hour or so because of all the waiting and dropping off and picking up of other passengers.
If you have your own car, a 30-minute drive over 20 kilometres should get you there. Since there is a speed limit imposed in Davao City, you might want to take the Magtuod road so you can drive faster, it’s going to be a steep journey through the hills but it should be fine because it’s all paved anyway.
The Coffee Spot and Lounge is situated near the highway and it’s pretty hard to miss owing to the huge signage the place has. There’s a wedding store right next door and a car wash so you can have your car cleaned after that long journey while you enjoy some coffee.
