Although I would say Haveli King is one of my favorite places to get Indian food from, I’ve never sset foot on the actual place.
And we finally got to visit just because Lyle wanted his favorite, cheese nan, from that place. Since we were already out, we decided to drive from Mr. Wen to DMSF to visit Haveli King in person.
We’ve been ordering from this place for a while now. This is where Indian food is done properly. And food done properly explains why entire civilizations are built on a culinary tradition.
Haveli King is located along Medical School Drive in Poblacion District, Davao City. It’s right outside DMSF.
And when you walk in it has exactly the atmosphere you’d expect and hope for from a specialty Indian restaurant.
Warm, aromatic, busy and yet not as chaotic as I pictured it in my mind.
The funny thing about our first visit in person is that we weren’t even that hungry when we went.
The real reason we ended up there was Lyle.
He asked if he could have cheese naan. He’s becoming a bit of a foodie because of his mom.
And so we went.
My wife ordered butter naan for us.
Lyle got his cheese naan.
Great place.
Legit.
